Follow
signs to I-25 North from the airport. You'll be on I-25 North
for only a few miles. Take exit 141 to Hwy. 24 West and take
a left at the light. Stay on 24 through Manitou Springs and
on into Woodland Park, about 20 miles.
In
Woodland Park, take a right on Hwy. 67 North, there is a Diamond
Shamrock station on your right at this traffic light. This
will take you through Deckers and into Pine.
In
Deckers, Hwy. 67 bears off to the right, but you stay straight
and go on until you come to I-285 at Pine Junction. Take a
left at this traffic light.
Stay
on 1-285. You will not go all the way into Bailey before
turning, so, from the traffic light in Pine Junction it
is 5 minutes to the next stop light. There is a Loaf & Jug
and Subway on your right. Take a right and you'll be on
Deer Creek Road, County Road 43(a).
Watch
your odometer. This is the fun (hard) part. It is exactly
8 miles to our driveway from this stop light. You have a fabulous
scenic drive, take your time and enjoy it. The paved road
follows and crosses Deer Creek. You'll see mountains, horse
farms, etc. all the way. The road twists and turns alot so
don't hurry. You'll think you've missed it at some point,
but just keep driving.
At
almost 5.6 miles down the road you'll see a "Y"
road sign with 25 MPH written on it on your right. A few more
turns and you'll see a lot of mail boxes on your right and
a road to the left which is black top, not paved. DO NOT go
left, stay on the paved road, which is now County Road 47
and also Clark Road. It is now 2.2 miles to our driveway.
The
road begins to climb and make lots of sharp turns at this
point. Take your time and enjoy. You'll pass a small horse
boarding farm on your left. WYSIWYG Cabin is your next right
turn.
There
is a WYSIWYG Cabin 1412 Clark Road sign at our driveway. The
drive is steep, so put your car or truck in low gear and make
your way on up to the cabin, about 50 yards. Park in front.
Our
Cabin Keeper is Traci DeWitt. She lives about 15 minutes away.
She leaves her phone number at the cabin for you if you have
a problem with the cabin while you are there. She's a very
kind and helpful person!
